Concrete Technology for Sustainable Development  In this lecture, students study fundamental knowledge of concrete material and the impact for environment. And, recent topics relating carbon neutrality of concrete is introduced.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Stabilization of Municipal Solid Waste in a Landfill  Landfills facilitate waste isolation, providing facilities for stabilization and pollution prevention, with potential for post-closure reuse. This lecture delves into the stabilization mechanisms active within landfills. It also covers the Fukuoka method, a semi-aerobic technique that promotes rapid waste decomposition and reduces emissions.  TBD
Water Quality Control and Management (1)  The causes and impacts of water pollution for the human life and ecosystem and the management of the pollution are explained.  Preparation of the contents of class, and answer to the mini-examination. Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Water Quality Control and Management (2)  The causes and impacts of water pollution for the human life and ecosystem and the management of the pollution are explained.  Preparation of the contents of class, and answer to the mini-examination.
Basic Study of River Environmental Engineering  This lecture will cover basic topics related to river engineering. Topics will include recent trends in research, while introducing examples of rivers in Japan and around the world.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Ecohydrology for sustainable aquatic environment in river basin  We review the previous ecohydrological studies that have been conducted to solve the problems in river basins including climate change and social change.  Submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Groundwater Environment  In this lecture, we learn how to evaluate water quality in groundwater environments.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Basic of water supply engineering  In this lecture, we learn the basic mechanism of producing drinking water.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Acid mine drainage  Acid mine drainage (AMD) is a significant environmental problem associated with mining activities. In this class you will learn the mechanisms of AMD formation and a variety of measures taken to treat metal-contaminated water.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Greenhouse gases and CO2 capture, utilization and storage  This is a class that introduces students to concepts of environmental pollution around the world. Student will recognized for the global warming and be able to discuss the relationship between energy and greenhouse gases.  Practice subject will be given during the lecture.
Applied and environmental geophysics (1)  In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of geophysical exploration. In addition, students will be introduced to effective near-surface geophysical methods for environmental problems.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
Applied and environmental geophysics (2)  This lecture introduces the principles and theory of the Self Potential method and provides basic exercises using nonlinear least squares method.  Review the contents of class, and submission of exercise results.
Radiation and Nuclear Engineering  Fundamentals of radiation and radioactivity are lectured. Based on the radiation and radioactivity, outline of nuclear engineering application such as power generation is lectured.  Review the contents of class, and submission of report on the assignment subjects.
